The Long Bow Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, founded in 1982 to produce and disseminate educational media. We have made thirteen documentary films which have won more than 28 awards, including George Peabody Broadcasting Awards, and Emmy and Academy Award nominations. Our films have been broadcast on PBS, the Arts & Entertainment and Discovery cable channels in the U.S, on the BBC and Channel Four in the U.K. and have been translated into seven languages for broadcast in Europe, Africa, and Asia. We have also worked on television programs with National Geographic, the Canadian Film Board, 60 Minutes, ABC's Nightline, NOVA, Frontline (PBS), and The American Experience.

Previous films include The Gate of Heavenly Peace, a three-hour documentary about the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, Small Happiness, First Moon, Abode of Illusion: The Life and Art of Chang Dai-chien, and the series One Village in China, examining life in Long Bow, a rural community 400 miles southwest of Beijing. The Long Bow Group has worked with the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, on the Yin Yu Tang project, bringing a Qing dynasty house from China to the US and creating related film and website materials. We also produced Creative Exchanges, a short film documenting a Silk Road Project residency at the Peabody Essex Museum, and we are currently working with the Silk Road Project on a series of concert and educational videos. Other groups we have worked with in the past year include Human Rights Watch and PEN American Center.
